Membership

Once you join CILT Tanzania as an individual or an organization, you gain a lifelong professional anchor for your career, a unique source of support; knowledge and networking, to assist you grow, to develop and to succeed.

There are five grades of membership:

1. Fellow (FCILT)

Fellowship is open to Chartered Members with at least seven years experience in a position or positions of high responsibility in management of logistics and transport. Individuals who have attained positions of eminence in logistics and transport may be granted Fellowship under exceptional circumstances.

2. Chartered Member (CMILT)

Full membership including voting rights is open to holders of the CILT Advanced Diploma, or an exempting qualification (usually a degree) and at least five years experience in logistics and/or transport, including two years at a senor level.

There are in addition specific routes to Chartered Membership for those people who have significant relevant experience but not the educational qualifications.

3. Membe (MCILT)

This grade is open to those with relevant qualifications and experience but do not qualify for Chartered status.

4. Affiliate`(Aff)

Affiliate is open to anybody who is interested in logistics and transport but who does not qualify or aspire to higher grades of membership.

The grade offers access to all benefits of CILT membership, except voting rights and letters after one’s name. This grad is for those who are new in the logistics and transport industry and are studying towards logistics and/or transport qualification.

5. Student

This grade is for those who are new in the logistics and transport industry and are studying towards a logistics and/or transport qualification.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Educational Courses: Members are able to upgrade their qualifications through certificate and diploma courses organized by CILT and other local and overseas institutions and universities.

Continuing Professional Development: Members participate in site visits, enjoy discounted rates for attending seminars and conferences organized by CILT and attend regular talks/discussions on logistics and transport related topics by industry leaders.

Feedback to Government on Policies: Members are provided with opportunities to contribute to government and industry on logistics and transport matters.

Access to CILT Resources:  Members receive CILT newsletters and publications.

Networking Opportunities: Members network with fellow logistics and transport practitioners and share knowledge with one another during events organized by CILT.

Professional Identity: Members will receive a membership certificate for the approved grad in additional to a membership identity card.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Networking: Networking opportunity and the meaningful kudos of formal association with the world’s most established association of logistics and transport professionals.

Certificate of Affiliation: Members are presented with a framed Certificate of affiliation as a “Corporate Members.”

Access to Global Database: Members have access to a global database of CILT Corporate Members worldwide for synergistic business development and networking purposes, subject to data protection where necessary.

Promotion:  Members can promote their Corporate Membership of CILT on letter heads and other promotional materials.

Access to Skills: Members enjoy access to CILT skills, knowledge resources and expertise.

Regular Circulation: Members receive copies of CILT publications with latest developments in logistics and transport industry.

Preferential and Discounted Rate:  Executive search and recruitment through CILT publications and websites at discounted rates. Preferential rates for advertising in CILT Tanzania Publications.
